Want to exchange the dealer supplied (stubby) chrome exhaust tip on the wifey's Colorado, for a longer SS polished tip.

The tailpipe measures 2.8125", and I have a tip that is made for a 3" inlet.

Given the creative, more experienced and thoughtful minds of this crew, I'm wondering what ideas you might have for shimming the tip for a nice, tight fit?

If neither of those work (can't see why they wouldn't) they (like Grainger) sells adhesive backed foil tape.
Wrap as needed.
Still, I'd try some simple shimming for "no" money first.

Some 304 stainless steel sheet, or aluminum sheet bent to shape would work as well.

depending on how the tip is mounted you can drill thur the exhaust pipe + use a longer screw for security. the cheap 400 OE stainless exhaust will corrode but prolly not enough for a tighter fit.
