Used this last spring when I dropped the pan in my 2008 4L60E Suburban, and then several more drain/refills after that. Just checked in the store and online, and it looks like Wal Mart is done carrying this in its lineup. At least for now, anyway.

Interestingly, I looked up the Mag1 lineup and it’s Dexron VI is also no more. If memory serves, Mag1 is a Warren company, so perhaps those two things are related.

Related: Is there any reason other Dexron VI licensed products would be incompatible with others? What if I move to a full synthetic?

There is the Supertech LV Multi-vehicle ATF that;s dual licensed for Dexron VI & Mercon LV. It's a full synthetic formulation, everything I've seen licensed for Mercon LV is full synthetic.

Kendall VersaTrans LV ATF is similarly dual licensed.

Same with Pennzoil Platinum LV ATF

Castrol also has a similar offering

I used the Kendall VersaTrans LV in my wife's Mustang with 6R80 last summer and no problems yet!

Dex VI is at least semi synthetic IIRC and should have no issues when mixed with other brands,
Walmart in this area never had Supertech dex VI only dex/mercon.
It looks like this is their replacement for Dex VI.

OMG there's a 3309 spec on the list! Won't that make the Volvo freaks (like me) happy!

Seems it's just the industry consolidating item numbers as these "new formulae" are backwards compatible.

Makes me thing they weren't all that different in the first place.

Saw that too, Kira. That will mean no more trips to the Toyota dealership to get ATF for my friend’s XC70.

Ironically Motorcraft Mercon LV brand is only listed as being made from "hydroprocessed base oils", not synthetic or even a synthetic blend. Unless in "Ford speak" hydroprocessed" means something more than a Group 2 or 2+

That's funny I have 10 quarts of Supertech DexronVI waiting for me at Walmart I just ordered online last week. It was very affordable. I'm going to do two drain and fills on my cruze

Any concerns with it being low viscosity?

No concerns over low viscosity from me.
The Valvoline MaxLife Dex/Merc LV I bought so much of and used for so many fluid replacements and D&F's worked quite well.
I'm assuming employment of the letters "LV" must be somehow standardized.

The old Walmart Dexron VI was $4.27. The new LV Multi is $5.97 which is too much for a house brand, especially at Walmart! The gallon is $21.97, which is $4 more than Maxlife (yes, the name brand is $1/qt cheaper than *Walmart* store brand!)

If you desire a licensed product, get the Castrol Full Synthetic ATF when it goes on sale. The parts stores usually have it a few times a year where all Castrol ATF is $5/qt

If the official Dexron VI license doesn't matter, then get Maxlife

It's showing up online again. I just ordered 7 qts. That got free shipping and will allow me to do a drain/refill and the transfer case. Assuming this is not some mirage...

Also seeing it's now $5.17. That's nearly a buck higher than before.
