factory fill "lifetime" Toyota WS with 43k miles on it. I did a full flush with Amsoil ATF which has done very well for me in other cars.

Thanks for sharing. Your wear numbers aside, I can never garner much from an ATF UOA.. but ATF isn't used in a combustion type of scenario so I guess it doesn't need a lot.

Thank you, i just changed the factory fill in my Toyota with ws at about same mileage. Was curious how well it might have held up

I changed what I assumed was the original WS in my Prius at slightly higher mileage than that. It came out inky black, but I couldn't find any ferrous particles by stirring it with a small magnet. That's not directly comparable, because there are no brakes, clutches, synchronizers, or any other friction devices in this transmission.


2011 Toyota Prius now at 94K
1981 Mazda GLC (323) retired at 606K
1972 Subaru DL retired at 190K
1954 Chevrolet retired at 121K
