Local Walmart has 1 Gal jug of Delo 400 XLE semi syn 10W30 diesel oil on clearance for $7 !!!

Would this be okay for my '01 Suburban 5.3 with 250K miles ?? It's been put aside as a 2nd back up/work vehicle and when I do drive it it's mostly hwy miles

Been running Harvest king 10W30 Full syn but wouldn't mind trying higher quality oil from Chevron with better detergents

Dave

Delo 400 is SN rated so it is fine for use in gasoline engines. Usually the purpose of mixed fleet oils are to allow the service shop to stock one type of oil when servicing diesel and gas vehicles. Seeking out a diesel oil to use in your gas engine works well with this great price, but not sure where the fad started. Whatever oil you where using before sounds effective if you have 250,000 miles.

I have used it in my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder V6 in the summer towing my 5,000 pound camper. It's a sold oil that was made to be really shear stable use it with confidence.

I went to Walmart with my wife yesterday specifically to find that deal on the Delo 5w30. No luck. Not that low here. If it does hit $7 per 4 quart container, I'll buy my next ten OCIs for the Frontier and not not look back.

Ya here in Oklahoma only 15w-40 and 10W-30 was on Clearance not 5W-30
