One of my dogs died last night. Toby was an Australian Cattle Dog that just showed up at our home about 12 years ago and adopted us. I contacted her owner and they said they could not handle her. She was always getting into things. Well, she found the right place with other dogs and acres of wilderness to explore.
We quickly saw that Toby was very active and needed something to to. She made friends with other neighbors and the pack of dogs here at home. She proved to be a gopher killing/eating machine and the neighbors always welcomed her visits.
Toby will be missed. I'm finding it difficult to accept the fact that she is gone. Today is proving to be a difficult day. I'm at lest comforted that we gave here a family/pack to join and find her own way. Many neighbors have been stopping by but I'm going to take my other dogs for a long walk.
