Monroe is offering a rebate of:
$50 if you buy 4 shocks
$75 if you buy 2 shocks and 2 struts (including quick struts)
$100 if you buy 4 struts (including quick struts
Valid on almost all shocks/struts other than the cheap "Matic" lines (Roadmatic/Econo-Matic/Monromatic/etc)

KYB is offering a rebate of:
$40 if you buy 4 shocks or struts
$60 if you buy 2 shocks or struts and 2 Strut Plus quick struts
$100 if you buy 4 quick struts
All of KYB's shocks and struts quality

Thanks for posting! Today is last day and I'm thinking about getting a set.

Anybody want to share success/issues with these Monroe and KYB rebates in 2018 or last year? Any retailer exclusions worth considering? RockAuto? Amazon?

Order them now! Quick, time is running out! cylon

My first choice would be KYB, if they make quick struts for your car. I've never had a car that KYB made quick struts for, and I never replaced the struts on a car they made quick struts for, either. KYB is the largest company that makes shocks, and the OE supplier to most Japanese cars.

Monroe's rebate excludes "auction sites" like eBay. But Rock Auto and Amazon *are* eligible. In fact, both sites have a link to the rebate right on their respective pages smile

I have no experience with Monroe's rebates, but I have gotten a rebate from their sister company Walker (exhaust/muffler products) with no problems. So Monroe should be just fine in that regard.

If you have a choice, get KYB. But if price is a concern and you can't afford KYB, or if they don't make quick struts for your car, Monroe is just fine, too. But KYB would still be my first choice.

Not enough time has passed for my experience to be useful yet but I sent in the Monroe paperwork 3 weeks ago and the online status system still can't find it. The terms say to wait 6-8 weeks for processing; don't know when it'll show up in the status checker.

I went with Monroe and bought it in separate orders from AAP - they told me multiple receipts is fine. Even with all AAP discounts/speedperks/cashback referrals, it still ended up being $40 more expensive than RockAuto. But, it means I'll have a faster and easier time in the future when I use the wear-out warranty and return the parts to the store rather than shipping it back to RA.

I would have preferred KYB but Monroe/Tenneco warranties the eligible parts against being worn out and KYB specifically mentions it will not apply the warranty for wear & tear.

KYB it is! I've done many motor oil and tire rebates but very few parts rebates. I've done two with Wagner (for brake pads). One I never received and one did come through. We'll see how this one works.

Hope you get your rebate without any drama. I normally choose KYB over Monroe and most other brands too but Monroe's warranty may make sense. However, I've never had to utilize KYB warranty. I'm sure there are some horror stories but KYB struts/shocks, from what I know, usually perform very well and for a long time.

Were you able to get 30% or 40% off at AAP? I haven't shopped there in a while as I haven't needed many replacement parts and, to be honest, because their prices are usually quite high.

^ I used the 30% coupon code and did separate orders so I could use the Speedperks generated by the first order and so on. Even after that it was still more expensive than RA but future warranty issues will be easier. Back then, twice/month a 30% coupon did not have the usual $50 limit so I waited for those codes.

Anyway.

I think it's nice to post some positive feedback with the rebate process after it has been done so search engines can pick up the info for future perspective buyers.

I received the rebate prepaid card today after slightly more than 8 weeks of dropping it off at the post office. It was right on time since the terms said they request 6-8 weeks after they receive the paperwork to finish process the rebate. Monroe rebates had a few different websites in the past, this one was done by tennecorebates.com - I couldn't find much feedback about them when I decided to buy the parts. Rebate was for spring/summer of 2018 and I bought 2 Quick Struts and 2 shocks. I couldn't check my rebate status through the website for the entire duration because it couldn't find my info. I didn't call nor email about status but I asked a question by email prior to the purchase and the rebate rep responded within a business day. So, it was hassle-free from my perspective.

Now to decide if I should throw away my worn factory springs and strut mounts/bearings.

Received $40 card as expected so KYB rebate program works. Took about two and a half months between mailing stuff to them and receiving the card in the mail.

FYI: the prepaid Visa card is more than likely issued by same company that does Discount Tire and Discount Tire Direct rebates. All the paperwork looks the same.
