I stumbled on this channel which interviews some of the greats in drag racing. I thought I would share for those who might be interested:

thanks!!! i will enjoy them. racing was not just the deepest pockets then + tuning was done without electronic aids!!

just watched Don Garlits "i did it my way" he is truely a good racer + a wonderful person!! true story, a friend Nick Nash a pretty successful small time racer when there were many classes of racing, he had a big trophy in his bake shop winning at INDY, nick said they ran all week!! anyhow while racing a bigger meet where Garlits was he needed some grease for something, told one of his crew go over to DON!! buddy said thats DON GARLITS, it mattered not as Don was really a regular guy + he gladly helped a fellow racer, thats Don Garlits!!!

Just a clarification: On a modern Fuel car, the only electronic tuning aid is a data-logger, which allows you to look at various performance parameters only after a pass. No on-board computer allowed that can make any adjustments in real time.

Thanks for the link. I grew up with magazine articles about these guys.
