Just checked new Baldwin oil filter B7491 for my Ford Escape , low & behold it had a Silicone anti drain Valve with 14 PSDI. Been using Baldwin produts for 40 yrs always had a nitrile valve on them .lot heavier than Motorcraft I get them from Truck Fleet local shop .

They're really big with the ag and heavy equipment users. However, I did manage to get a a couple of dozen Baldwin-built, Federated-branded filters on close out from RockAuto for my vehicles, and yes, I have two Escapes. Most of the filters are built right north of me in Nebraska.

Ive only used their diesel fuel filters, but I'd say they are high quality and work well.

They're good filters, but they don't filter well compared to other filters. I'm refering to oil filters also.

I used them once on the 240s. Oil pressure light would come on during start up even after sitting for a short time. Went back to Mann W917 and Mahle OC204. Never had an oil pressure light at start up.
