Maybe it's against the HOA rules or something.
 
Also the road repair crews should never work on that street again. Signs saying "I don't care if the whole street collapses (signed, lady who lives at #14)" should be posted to remind them.
 
Actually we have free speech in the USA however in my journalism classes we discussed that during the Vietnam war a grandmother wrote to her grandson and told him not to go. Supposedly she was arrested. But for ANDY636
