Back around 2010 ish WIX updated this filter and relocated the bypass valve from the dome end to the threaded end where it should be. I am unable to find them for some reason. All of the 51372 and the NAPA Gold 1372 have the bypass valve in the wrong spot on the dome end.

I know this is a difference of opinion, but I prefer it to be on the threaded end. Where do I get these?

What I DON'T WANT:

Here is a Virgin C&P of the 51372 I did a while back. It is a dome end bypass.

From my experience, they use to have thread end bypasses. They switched to the dome bypass.

I think Motorcraft is the only one still with the threaded end by-pass valve. If the threaded end is what you want, they might be your only option.

The 5/1372 is the FL820S equivalent. For whatever reason, Wix/NG has for as long as I can remember used a dome bypass on that application. One of the minority Wix/NG OF that does. Been speculation that 'perhaps' it may have something to do with patent rights from FoMoCo, but seen no confirmation on that. Iirc, Mopar (also thread end) equivalents may be same.

Anyway if thread end bypass a must, you'll have to look elsewhere.

Does the 51732XP have the bypass you want? Sometimes the XP does have a different bypass setup than the standard Wix smile
