TRW calls for TES389/TES295 fluid for their THP 60 steering box. Truck is a 2006 Freightliner M2

I am currently using Mobil Multi Vehicle ATF

It meets Dex III, which is what was originally specified for this box

Mobil Dex VI does not list TES389 as a spec it meets.

Can Dex VI be used? Is it any way superior to the Multi Vehicle ATF, which is also a synthetic blend? Is there an issue with viton seal compatibility?

Yes, I am well aware of that and that is what I use in Allison transmissions. My question was specifically about Dex VI. I was looking for less expensive alternatives to the Mobil Delvac 1 ATF since the power steering system is a less severe environment than an auto tranny. Is Dex VI better than the Mobil Multi Vehicle ATF that I am currently using?

You might get away with it in a TRW box (never use ATF in a Sheppard)...but I'd stick with the Delvac 1 ATF...it's not like you change it often or it's a big sump. IMO...Dex VI is too thin for a big steering box.
