Cat went on my G6 beater at 60k was was shocked but totally lucked out found a letter from GM in my car file they extended the warranty because of a recall replacement free.

156k on my 1993 mr2 and passes dyno emissions well within the margins.
22 yrs and 287k miles and climbing.
I saw an old Corolla with 400K on the original cat.

175k on ford escape sold it. 185k on a saturn that burned 1 quart every 400 miles. Only one i replaced was on the hyundai under warranty.
I also wonder if fuel system cleaners are good or bad for cats. Products like b-12 and techron.

278k on an 1997 Accord 2.2
272K on my original cats until a coil wire shorted out and I was running on 4 cylinders. No CEL, but the cats were killed due to soot buildup from running too rich.
237k on original cat, tranny gave out first. 1999 Cavalier.

Close to 200k on a '93 Accord and the converter rolled out from under the car into the ditch in 2007.
I bet the converter would still pass an e-test if I could find it....

A little over 500k miles on a 2004 GMC 3500 Service van we had. Never a peep from that truck, it was a factory freak for sure...
160k then had to reset the PO420 code every few hundred miles. No noticeable performance issues, however.
I've never had to replace cats on anything. Except Fords. Three fords, 3 cats, all under 100k.
420K on the old volvo- the odometer was broken for 7 years just before I got the car and fixed it; I figure close enough to 500K. It is getting smog numbers close to max. No replacements on any of the other cars in my sig.
I have never replaced a catalytic converter on a vehicle I owned. And I do not personally know anyone who has done so.
And when driving around, I don't notice cars burning a significant amount of oil, like when I was a kid back in the 1970s.
But there is always one guy on any oil thread in any auto forum warning not to use a HDEO oil on a gas engine car because it will destroy the catalytic converter. Make of that what you wish.

never replaced any cats on any of my fords.
a contour that i bought about a year and half ago has a decal under the hood on it that it had an updated catalyst replaced under warranty on it but i think that was when it had only 30,000 miles on it, probably a recall or something.
anyways, all my fords well over 100,000 miles never had to replace any.
at the trucking company i work at they have a couple Chevy Colorado pickups that they use for escort pickups for oversize loads, and at least 2 of them have had to have cats put on them and they aren't even 2 years old.
I would imagine it has something to do with severe duty use and a lot of idling etc.

Have only replaced 2 cats.
One on a truck when I had a complete aftermarket exhaust system put on, one on a Blazer when I damaged it from booney crashing in for a fishing/camping trip. Other than that no actual failures.
