What type of ADBV?? Does it look like a Purolator made one?? That USA emblem on it seems to be from them.

Looks like the Champ Ecores from the filter pictured on that box. The old ones being clearanced are made by WIx (same as Napa Proselect)

Nothing-used with the proper OCI intervals. But on BITOG-they are no good just like Chinese tires, CVT transmissions, and other various nonsensical attitudes.

CKN is right. The newer e cores are actually really pretty well made. They added more support to the inside of those filters so that they hold up really well now.

They used to have an inner cage that had some huge gaps. So much so that the media would sometimes tear, separate, blow through and clog up oil passages in the engine. A few people have reported that the parent company paid them for a new engine. The later E-Cores put more material in the cage and the media seems to stay in place.
I haven't done so for the last couple of years, but I've used them and didn't have a problem with them. Just lucky I guess.
The new, "improved" SuperTech filters will obviously be more expensive and they are going to justify it with the 10,000 miles recommendation.

Compatible or Comparable? How would it be "compatible" with other filter brands?

Looking at the picture of the filter on the box it kinda looks like the blue paint is textured. Anyone else think so?

Looks like it has Fram fiber end caps also.

Good point! Advertising people often seem to be illiterate.

About the apparent texturing of the paint, that may not prove anything, considering that the box itself appears to be textured in areas that aren't part of the filter picture.

10k on an e-core filter? Yeah, no thanks! Hopefully that's just the filter on the box and not the actual item inside.

Nope, if they are actually thin white end caps like the photo cutaway shows, then they are like the old original SuperTech filters.
