My son moved back to his uncles house this past Monday night. I sure do miss him already. Anyway, I had to go to WM this AM to buy some liquid crab boil, small red potatoes, and garlic cloves, for the shrimp I'm boiling this weekend. I went this AM because we are about to have 3 days of monsoon weather. While there I drove my cart back to the auto section and there was a clearance cart! On it was misc. oil at discount prices, wiper blades, waxes, etc. I started looking around and there were several 5 qt. containers of 0W40 Pennzoil Platinum Euro synthetic oil for $14.00 each. And, there was 1 individual qt. of the same oil , but it was in a silver bottle, for $2.50. I bought 1 of the 5 qt. containers and the only qt. container. And, my phone was in my truck, so I didn't take any pics. It started raining and I had to hurry hobble, with my cane, to the electric carts inside before I got drenched! But, when my son changes my oil Sunday (the boiled shrimp are for him changing my oil) I will take pics of the oil containers.
Not bad for just going to buy some crab boil and I scored some good oil. I wish I had more money, I would have bought ALL of it.
This oil, along with my WIX XP oil filter should do for a good 5K mile OCI.
BTW, what is the difference between the EURO and US Pennzoil?

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 0W-40 is similar to the other Euro 0W-40s with a 3.5ish HTHS and high TBN for extended drains.

Going to hit WM this morning and see if I can catch a deal.

I will soon be buying a car that needs 0W-40; I need to hit the local WMs here and see what I find.

Okay Madman, I have some more proof for you! I just rolled my wheelchair out to my truck and took some pics JUST FOR EWE! And, I included a pic of my prosthesis, just in case you don't think I'm a BTK amputee. Also, as soon as it starts raining AGAIN, I PROMISE you, I will get pics of that for you too! Is there anything I left out?
Oh, I even took a pic of my neighbors cat. That's a FREEBIE.

That's a fantastic price for this oil.

But a few weeks ago you were asking whether to use Xw-20 vs Xw-30 grade oil, and now you're going to use 0w-40 instead?

Amazing what you can find at Walmart . If you do not believe me , go to YouTube and do a search for people of Walmart . Scary ! :-)

I have enough oil put back for a year or two . May need filters for the 3.8l Buick . Hope RockAuto.com puts them on sale before I use the one I have . Probably be late summer before it gets used .

We have a prediction for maybe a little rain for today & tomorrow .

God bless

QP, please don't start on me too. Why is it that no one believes anyone on here? I'm a God fearing person! I go to church when my leg allows me to. I just thought it was an exceptional deal so I bought it. shrug

That's all you had to write. Nowhere did I state that I did not believe you. I just wanted to know what made you change your mind. Now I know. thumbsup

Sorry.
I went to my local WM at 4:30 AM this morning. I bet you there is NONE of that clearance oil left. I wonder why WM is selling it that cheap?
Funny thing, last night I was watching YT videos on 0WXX oils. I was reading about a member buying a Scat Cat, or Demon, in the oil forum, and if he should change his oil or not. I think he stated that Dodge fills their engines with Pennzoil 0W40 from the factory.

Maybe cut back on the caffeine a little bit? I don't think anyone's "jumped" on you. Good deal if you have a vehicle that can use that oil.

I noticed on the CASTROL shelf, there is the black bottle of 0W40 for $21.00. Isn't that oil usually $35? And, isn't that Euro Pennzoil I just bought kind of expensive too?

We put some MOBIL 1 0W40 in my sons 04 F150, 5.4-3valve engine, to clean it out. It did an excellent job.
I own the F150 in my signature. I have used oil from 0W20-10W40 in that engine, with no problems. I'm sure this 0W40 will do it some justice. And, with a WIX XP filter as well!
