So, after performing the maintenance myself, and doing some homework, I found out the issue was as simple as adding a few quarts to my transmission

A nifty how-to video was very helpful.

I bet money the shop I used had no Idea that you had to run the car in order to properly check the ATF, oh well, car is running fine now, shifting well, and I’m planning on doing a full drain and full with the next oil change.

It was never added to the transmission to be missing, i bet money the shop added fluid with the explorer off which is what you typically do with most cars right?
This model is wonkey, you have to add it while its running in order to check the proper atf level, if not it will look full with 3 quarts missing.

On MOST vehicles....The engine needs to be running to check ATF level. It always wise to read the owners manual.
