Galvanized bolt strength.

I asked this question a while back and was looking to see if the galvanized bolts are a grade 5 bolt or just a standard grade 2. Same question with stainless bolts, they always have a number in them, but no strength rating like your typical zinc plated bolt.
 
I don't know where my old thread went that answered my question. Someone even posted a link.
 
Galvanizing steel can be difficult because of Hydrogen Embrittlement. We have had steel parts do brittle then break on slight impact.
 
Galvanized is typically used in non-critical applications like docks and piers where the strength of the wooden parts is much less than the bolts. Link
