I'm doing an overhaul of my parent's garage doors since the springs are broken, I might as well take advantage of the downtime and replace the rollers, bearing plates and cables. It turns out that the new rollers aren't sealed and I can hear the rattle of the balls but it also means they'll take lubrication readily.

My plan was to lube them up with Penetro 90 before installing them but I think I want something that stays in there. I was thinking WD-40's Specialist line. Will that be a better choice or should I look for a "liquid grease"?

I use a spray grease. But they went at least 15 years with nothing, currently 20+ yeas old. The grease will attract and hold dirt so it should be an annual thing.

CRC 03056 - clear penetrating grease is what you want. Will spray in fluid, solvent will flash, and it sets up but is more like a 0 or #1 grease - some tack but no flow. Don't want it too think for the cold weather...

I can't get that in CA. It does seem a little like the WD-40 Specialist gel but with Teflon added. I don't think their part of the state sees temps lower than 37*F.
