Be patient. I thank he means, Hasn't it been Dexos 1 for years. Anyway, 0-20AFE is also Dexos 1. Both are good oils for long lasting engines.

What is the deal with the green vs. silver caps?
I noticed the dexos1 logo is different on each.
No "gen2" on either of them. It does appear the green cap is relatively new.
Old shelf stock at Walmart for the silver cap one?
On the back of the bottles, if the dexos1 license begins with GB... then its the old generation 1, otherwise Gen2.
I think that stuff has been low Ca, high Mg for a few years, so probably fine for LSPI anyway. I dunno about the timing chain wear test though!!

Both M1 0-20 and 0-30 are dexos1 gen2. Here's a link. Not sure about the old bottle.

I know the new 0w30 is dexos1 Gen2, yet what's that stuff on the shelf? Old Stock?
They did have green caps 10 years ago. I guess the only way to tell is to look at the actual license number on the back.

I have to ask did you see my review for Mobil Super Synthetic 5w30 on the Mobil site?? I think I did pretty good with that one. 59 found it helpful and only 1 no. Pretty decent I think.
