You should have used quotes:

"White grease" suffocating fuel filters.

Because it is a white grease-like substance

Quote:
These liquids are typically what our team finds in the container when it arrives at our testing facilities. Without a strong solvent such as xylene, the heavier-end paraffin that blinds the filter will not go back into solution. In the absence of higher temperatures, diesel fuel itself doesn’t have enough solvency power to dissolve the wax on the filter. Heavy, waxy fuels have more of these higher-chain hydrocarbons, which is why our region has been seeing more of this “white grease” that doesn’t melt at room temperatures. Under these circumstances, it is not biodiesel related, just long-chain ULSD hydrocarbons—something that your regional suppliers can’t control.

Looks like Crisco at room temperature! I thought that professional biodiesel processors had eliminated the issues with bio that were commonly seen when one made it in their garage?

it says under unusual circumstances it might not even be biodiesel related.

Same with engine oil.

Once the wax forms, it needs to get back up to 70-80 CELSIUS so that it co-dissolves.

Will dig up some stuff after work.

Here's one that is pretty useful.

https://www.osti.gov/scitech/servlets/purl/963363/

It's relevant, as it's wax, temperature, and memory effects, like the article that salesrep posted, it's just a different branch.

Don't read all couple hundred pages, skim, grab concepts.
