At $7.99, 99% @ 20um, why aren't the Steeltech oil filters talked about more? Not enough dirt handling capacity?

Bosch Premium Oil Filters protect your engine by keeping harmful particles and dirt out, preventing premature wear and engine failure. Premium oil filters not only fit the same way as original OE filters, they utilize an exclusive blend of natural and synthetic materials in the media for superior oil filtration and increased engine protection.

Key Features

*The Premium filtration media has the capacity to hold up to 14 grams of dirt* in the filter media
*A high glass content is woven into the blended media, providing greater efficiency and strength by trapping 99% of the particulates from getting into the engine
*Proper fit - a Bosch Premium Oil Filter will fit and stay on the vehicle the same way as the original filter
*Extensive coverage on domestic, Asian and European vehicles

*Based on ISO 4548-12 at 20 microns on 3500

I’m sure they will be talked about plenty. I don’t ever recall using a Bosch oil filter. Anyway, looks like Walmart is clearing out their Bosch filters. The remaining Distance + are going for $3.00 each.

Due to tears seen in some other Bosch brand filters posted here, and the fact that other Bosch filters in USA are manufactured by Purolator, I doubt these filters are high on the shopping list for many BITOG members. I know that's the case for me. Media is listed as plain cellulose on the OR web site and there's no efficiency data listed at the OR web site details.

Bosch Premium is a different oil filter than Steeltech from what can be seen.

Well noted. I think I’ll head over to Walmart and see if I can score some of those 3$ filters before they are gone.

As said above, they are Purolator made filters, and Purolator gets no love here now.

The $3 D+ have been gone for a long time around here (with the exception of a few oddball sizes nobody seems to want).

The pics of the Steeltech filter in the linked thread indicate Wix manufacture, which as noted in that thread is still Mann + Hummel.
