Hello!
I have 2012 Suzuki Swift Sport (american Suzukis 6 speed manuals are same)
I changed my gearbox oil because, Suzuki dealer had put normal Mobil 75w-90 GL4/GL5. Yes in here, Suzuki dealer doesnt use Suzuki oils (75w-80). Just brand that gives more money to them....
But Mobil makes my first gear changes in cold, very very hard and makes some crunch sounds. This Getrag 6 speed manual box is famous for this, so its not broken or anything.
But when i changed my oils to AMSoil MTG 75w-90 it was super. Everything feel better and better, but in 2 months, my gearbox makes bit whining noise on 2nd and 3rd gear (on acceleration and deacceleration).
Its not super bad sound, but can it be just oil problem?
I asked european Suzuki forum and even my dealer and nobody have repaired or changed gearbox.
This car have now 61 000miles, and had gearbox oil changes by dealer at 30 000miles, 60 000miles... And with by me at about 60 000miles. No metal or anything with old oils.
Just thinking is there alternative gearbox oil that works in cold (freezing temps here)? Or am i going to repair soon first Suzuki box in Europe?
AMSoil is so new thing here that i cant say anything about it, can you guys?
Thanks much, and im sorry that English is not my first language!
