Prediction: Virtus_Probi will notice Subaru syn oil has a lot of Ca, which means Subaru hasn't addressed LSPI the same way GM's dexos1 Gen2 has.
There was a recall of some Subie engines for LSPI, so it is weird Subie oil has that much Ca.

Yes, that too. But it does have lots of Moly which supposedly counteracts the Calcium. But again, when was it bottled? Changes may have been made towards the LSPI end since this sample.

That is a bit of a fault with PQIA. The purchase date has no relevance if the oil has been on the shelf for a while. The Subaru oil might be old but we may never know.

All true. Moly is supposed to have an LSPI-quenching effect. ... I like everything in that PQIA report except for the Ca...very low CCS viscosity, NOACK loss is pretty low at 10.1% (same as the last M1 5W30 VOA by the PQIA), nice doses of boron and moly as mentioned. Doesn't necessarily tell us much about how the oil performs in an engine, but the test results look good to me.

Idemitsu has a 5W30 Zepro Touring oil on the d1G2 list, I wonder if Subaru dealers will be getting that in a their own bottle in the future? Probably nearly impossible for us to know...it does seem that Subaru should be sensitive to this issue given the expensive WRX/FXT recall a few years ago. Maybe they think their software changes were good enough to completely tackle LSPI? I always go for the hardware solution if there is one...
 
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but it seems relevant:

Is the consensus that the Mopar MaxPro in this test is just re-labelled PYB? The numbers seem close but the last time PQIA tested PYB was in 2016.
