An earlier post, couched in humor (and booted to the humor section with no explanation) was a serious piece of aerospace news. I verified the vehicle was indeed on google Earth at the Florida P&WC facility and, today, a further item on AvWeb:

https://www.avweb.com/avwebflash/news/Hypersonic-Hypotheses-Getting-Real-230173-1.html

And an earlier item detailing some business competition in the area:

And a picture, supplied by the Chinese, of one of their hypersonic concepts. Look familiar?

More and more unclassified info is surfacing lately in the hypersonic research arena whether via the Waverunner, and other, programs for Global Precision Strike, the follow-on to the SR-71, and the saber-rattling Chinese and Russians. IMHO, we're about to see a step change in technology coming out of the black and into the open. And, if it is, it only means the next generation beyond is already taking form farther out of sight.

I still suspect the messaging scenario though. Happens all the time.

Cheers,

Larry

Back in the early 1980s Reading the help wanted ads I remember 1 ad that said we built the SR71 and would you like to join our team ? Today i still findthe ad interesting.

There is a Trump TFR here, but when it's over, I do plan on flying overhead and taking a look. I don't know if my DSLR (camera) still has a functional battery. If it does, I may take a pic.

I believe, if I had the actual google Earth app, it might be possible to see the date of the overhead shot. It could be weeks or mere days old, no way for me to tell. I usually use my Fire tablet to post things and don't really have enough horsepower to run it here. My guess is the vehicle has moved but it would be interesting to know. Log some hours for the rest of us Cujet and good onya.

Cheers,

Larry

Sorry, but nothing interesting visible

Had a bit of a time taking pics and flying in turbulence. Plus the autofocus would not focus, so I had to use manual focus. Most of the pics were wicked blurry. I'm a terrible photographer to begin with, add in equipment failures and the result is not pretty.
