There's probably an engineer at GM or maybe Toyota looking at this and saying, "Golly jeepers, I wish we would have thought of ordering one of those instead of using engineering principles, computer-aided design, computational fluid dynamics studies, lab testing, field work and countless hours of research".

Just goes to show that you can't beat the Internet when it comes to inventions like this.

I just watched that. Interesting, would have thought that would be a restriction. Using the inbound air to spin a turbine. If its not going to get some how sucked into the intake and down the valves I just may try that on the Escalade which has been off 3 MPG this winter to an all time low of 12.5mpg avg on premium. She's thirsty these days.

Tornado predates the internet by a good bit. Classic infomercial bull. Used to come on back-to-back with Z-Max (with Linkite!), Banjo Fishing System, and other stupid stuff.

Your engine is a vacuum pump and will suck as much air as it needs. Unless you have the worlds largest mouse nest in your air filter box, restriction isn't an issue.

Or, unless you've built up the engine to 450+ horsepower.

Plus it's $313.65, no one would charge that much for something that isn't super effective, right?

There's a precedent.

I've seen the term "velocity stack" used by butt-head bikers who think its "cool" to leave the air filter off, and probably think "velocity stack" sounds "cooler" than "lOOK Ma, no air filter".

This isn't quite as stupid as that.

Unless you pay $300 dollars for it.

And then some! When I first seen the link, I would have bet a million dollars someone pulled up an old ad/infomercial for one! Hard to imagine it is still around and is still being touted as the next best thing, but I guess there is a whole new uniformed generation now driving.
