It seems like Bosch is the lowest common denominator here - seeing how they supply Ford with the engine control and SCR systems. Just like how VW and Daimler worked with Bosch as well.

Could this dramatically affect Ford?

When the EPA or some real authority says someone cheated I might believe it. Lawyers looking to make a buck...forget it.Surprised it took this long. The slime lawyers went after GM too and nothing has happened.

Ummm... the EPA issued a notice of violation of the Clean Air Act to VW.

I think he is talking about the Ford lawsuit which seems to be lawyer driven.

But the EPA didn't issue such a notice to Ford, General Motors, or Daimler.

All of the above have had a *civil* class action suit brought against them by the same law firm, Hagens Berman. In all of these instances, there has been no accusal of wrongdoing by the EPA.

Anymore, Hagens Berman amount to ambulance chasers, looking for hot topics to bring class actions suits against and score a quick settlement.

I'm not saying Ford did or didn't do anything wrong. BUT, How would Bosch be culpable for Ford using a feature they shouldn't use? I tune GM products all the time & use features inside the Engine Controllers to defeat emissions devices, It's not GM's fault I chose to do that.

Wait... If these trucks are over 7600# GVW, is this even relevant??? Seems like lawyers trying to make a buck.

I honestly doubt Ford, GM or Chrysler will ever get in trouble. Just because it is a domestic brand and can't hurt the guys at home. USA

There is so much more stuff going on with the EPA and the other brands. They get mad at VW for their diesels yet the guy in the jacked F250 rolls coal without even touching the pedal. smirk

this is becasue many states and Canadian provinces and do not have emission testing so new trucks off the lot are getting dpf, egr and cat coverter deletes right at the dealership

and the pollution is outrageous, but there is a phrase I often use "its what you voted for"

https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/b-c-coal-r...lists-1.1916039

if you want something different you have to change your government

And the DOT put pressure on VW for their diesels, but is letting Honda take their sweet time with Takata airbags.

You can have power and not roll coal. I'd love to point out to a coal roller that your engine is a short bus engine(and also used by New Flyer and Gillig in hybrid transit buses). grin

My truck's exhaust is less visible with a delete than it was with the stock emissions in place.

People who get smoke tunes are idiots. People who make smoke tunes are even worse.

Is there any company that sells a diesel truck in the USA and uses no Bosch parts on it? I can't think of any.

What does that matter? Bosch doesn't build automobiles!
