We always called it soda pop when I was a kid (Chicago)...I call it soda now. A pop generally means a beer here, go out and have a few pops with friends!

Confusing. Is a 7-Up a clear Coke?

We're soda now. But when we go back to PA, my wife always forgets it's pop. The looks she gets sometimes are pretty funny.

We've always called it pop. Coke is Coke and cola just like any cola(store brand etc).
Root beer is root beer
Ginger Ale is ginger ale
Orange Crush or any orange carbonated is just orange pop
And so on!

Tonic or Coke.

Just sampled a 1893 Pepsi. Reminds me of when cola was decent in the 60's from a fountain.

Don't drink the stuff now.

Right. I’m an old timer and call it a soft drink. I remember buying soft drinks for 7 cents in the 60’s.

I was raised in Georgia. It's Coke. Even if it's Pepsi, it's still a Coke.
