I have had excellent success with ALL 15W-40... even the inexpensive stuff (You can get TWO gallon jugs at Atwoods Ranch for only $12!)

Even the old 15W-40 that was CC/CD (1980's) has done well in OPE.

OPE has a VERY low power to displacement ratio - Any oil the meets API spec is fine.

I use NAPA Universal Fleet 15-40. It is made by Valvoline.I use it in my Honda 20 HP V-twin, Never a problem. Last time I used it was for 5 days after Irma, and it was in the 90's here in S Florida.

could be ideal, unless in cold conditions. I doubt that the sae30 recommendations are sooo cloes tolerance that the 40 is waay off. never noticed anyways. What I do know however is that those HDEO is, well; Heavy duty, compared to the cheapest 10-30s, the 15w40 are really well made.
Having said that, I rund 0w30 in the outside stored snow blower, and any oil between 0w30 and 15w40 in summer use ope
