What is the widest tire size I can put on a 16x8 custom wheel? This is on a 2000 F150,just street tires,no big off road tires for me.

According to several car forums a 275/45R16 is the widest tire that will fit.

knowing the width of your existing tire you can reach your hands behind the tires with front wheels turned lock to lock and you can guesstimate how much space is there. Any additional width you add to that is divided by 2 on the inside where it may rub. Tire rack has the widths listed for the tires they sell.

I had 285/75R16's on my 02 F150 that no one said would fit without a problem using this method and they are giant tires comparatively. On that truck the one spot to check is the driver side wiring bundle along the frame. Ford didn't tuck it in well which you can do yourself.

235 70r 16 is whats on the truck now. Wouldnt want then too much taller if i can help it.

Do you want truck tires, or P-Metrics?

I think the 285/65R16 would be fun

I just want regular street tires. No big tall boy off road mudding tires. This is for in town driving and highway high speeds....lol
