Haven't had decent heat for several years (thought the heat gauge was faulty) and ball joints have been squeaking for awhile. Had one shop give me an estimate on the joints and they said $849! Took it to a local independent who installed Moogs with grease fittings, a Motorcraft thermostat, fresh antifreeze, and a new belt to replace the badly cracked Oem, for $500. Now I have good heat, the gauge works as it should, and I don't feel like I'm wrestling a tractor to steer the old Ranger around.

Good for you

You did alright. Hopefully they installed Moog Problem Solvers instead of their econo-line junk that competes with all the other Chinese-made parts.
Still, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
