hi all,
up till last month i was using LOApost to get emails out of an old program (running XP). LOApost ceased. they sent notice, and gave some recommended sites to try. the LOA program is downloaded and resided on the desktop, whereas the new sites (authsmtp.com) use a cloud, and I must be able to type in their user ID and password. my old program only has 3 fields for me to fill... smtp server address, email address for undeliverable, and port.

calls to CL asking if they will unblock port 25 get testy, referencing terms of service. they do not indicate if using a static ip would help.

anyone aware of an alternative?
tia,
parker

You could set up your own server on your LAN. It is going to be hard to find any public server on the Internet accepting unencrypted mail on port 25.

You could create an unauthenticated SMTP forwarder on your LAN that will forward to a regular authenticated SMTP

I used this for years to some old dataloggers
