I have a 98 Expedition that I just replaced heater core.
Heater core was bypassed because of leak.
I have a couple of older factory hose sections with quick disconnect ends.
What would I lubricate the O rings with when installing the quick connects?
Something available from my home or local parts store.

On quick connects I usually us Nylog blue because I have it around but silicone grease or as someone said just plain coolant works fine too.

I just smear some coolant on them if you don't have some silicon grease.. You just want them to slide in place and not twist as you insert them.I wouldn't buy anything special.

Water, anti-freez, a mix, dish soap, spit, anything but a petroleum product. [censored] an oldtimers trick was to use brake fluid on the hoses. Make nice n slippery then when dried it sealed em up so they had to be cut off.

Magic Lube is what you are seeking. 100% silicone grease and super tacky. Great for other around the house plumbing tasks and O-ring lubing. Get it at your local swimming pool supply. Will not eat O-rings.
