2008 Jetta PZEV 123k mi flex pipe cracked covered

I have a 2008 jetta which is a PZEV and 123k miles. I purchased CPO in 2011. The flex pipe has a crack in it and car is very loud. It appears the flex pipe is one piece with the catalytic converter. Is it covered under emmisions warranty as PZEV have 15yr/150,000 mile warranty. Car is in NJ.

Just because the vehicle might have CARB emissions, it doesn't mean it will have the same warranty as if it was sold in California.

Go to the local VW dealer even if its a 10/100 they may repair it under a goodwill program, it never hurts to ask.
If not they can usually be replaced inexpensively (around $100).

If I were paying for it, I'd torch the flexpipe out and weld another in.

Curious how the manufacturer would handle it though. Ask!

Check your warranty booklet. Lots of emissions related parts are covered under Pzev and NJ is a Pzev state.
