Looking at a really clean one of these bikes right now. Going to use it mostly for single track trails and some commuting.
How tough are these bikes on oil? What's been holding up the best in them?

No worse than any sportbike is on oil.

Yeah, don't think they are any high Rev, super sportbike, so should be fine.

That bike is liquid cold and not a high RPM screamer. I don't think it'll be hard on the oil.
You live in an awesome state to ride a dual-sport motorcycle btw!

Yes, I do! Got over 300 miles of mountain single track right out my back yard. And that's just the first system!

The older carb bikes get terrible reviews and are a BEAR to start. They just were never carb'ed properly.

Good news is, they just re-released this bike with fuel injection. The NEW one is probably the best dual sport 250 ever made. Id look at a new one myself unless the older one was really really cheap.
