Battery Maintainer: Prologix vs Norco Genius

I use a Battery Tender on my convertible which is parked in the garage from November thru March. Too many on-board computers in this car to be able to remove a battery for an extended period. This is the fifth winter I have been doing this with no problems yet. Sometimes I need to start and move the car in mid-winter to access other things. Always starts right up.

Just ordered the prologix 2320. Should be here Tuesday.

I learned today that I have a somewhat weak battery. Wouldn't start after some time running the stereo. Checked the water and while the plates were covered I could see a lot of sulfation. Added some distilled water, jumped the car off and went for a nice drive. Hopefully it starts in the morning.

I'm not sure. Somewhere in the 3-5 year range.

Also when I say stereo it's not just the in-dash receiver. It's a couple of amplifiers in the trunk too. With the volume cranked up there can be significant amp draw.

Plus there's a lawn tractor battery to be charged as well

I can't get the prologix to go into desulfurization mode. I just killed my car battery with headlights and stereo in about 20 min , voltage under load was 8.9v

Put the charger on it and hit the button, normal charge mode.

I'm mildly annoyed by this. I can see the sulfation through the watering holes
