Stopped down at my female best friends house yesterday. She told me her 05 Subaru Baja 2.5L NA 5speed manual -- while getting onto highway last Friday -- she almost redlined it trying to merge. She said the check engine light came on immediately. It stayed on the whole time she drove the car that day. Light went off the following day. Yesterday the same thing happened when she almost redlined it merging again. Again, light stayed on the whole day driving the car & today the light was off. Car has 82,065 orginal miles on it, plugs & wires where changed around 60k miles. It never had that light come on before while she pegged it/redlined it in the past. I checked the oil & radiator levels & there both full. What would cause this light to appear?
