I just received a shipment to take me through the next few years. Figures this is a good opportunity to compare/contrast two cartridge filters for the same application; Porsche 986 & 996.
Both appear very well made and I'll use either. The main difference is the end caps and seals; Mahle uses fiber while Hengst uses a hard plastic w/ a fabric gasket. The fiber caps on the Mahle are a tight fit on the spigot apparently providing the seal without the separate gasket. Both inner supports are similar.
