Walmart seems to be doing a rollback of 10.00 off mobil 1 AP 5qt. I will be getting three 5qt jugs of 0w20, enough for two changes, for my 2007 tundra. If it makes it, and I get to use the oil, at that point it will have over 200k and be 13 years old.

Will put it in come June or July next year, just changed the oil and good for another 9.5k.

Other than substantial hype and little real historic data what makes you believe the Mobil 1 AP wound do any better than this?

Mobil is an American company, unlike Castrol. Get a grip and consume American products.

I consume America products that are competitive. Most of what is use is American. Competition is what keeps your products affordable. If it isn't on sale at a fair price I'm not buying it just because they say make me rich buy American.

In the past I have used penzoil, qs, valvoline, mobil 1, but never castrol.

The last 10 years have been mobil 1. I am just going to stick with mobil 1.

Plus, the oil you posted is 15k, not 20k. If I were going with 15k I would get the mobil 1 ep.

Anything I am missing with the castrol you posted that is better than mobil 1?
thanks

You forgot to mention how much cheaper it is. Figure your cost per mile.

Most Castrol Edge Products are produced in the USA that are at least sold here.

Granted its not an American but Americans do have their part in it.

So where do you draw the line?

Jeff

I dont buy Japanes branded cars because the profits go back there instaed of staying in the USA....and because American built cars are superior to Japanese, and far superior to German cars in terms of cost per mile. :p

One of the first cars built in China and imported to the US was the Buick Envision (and Volvo S60). crazy

Nice we all can buy what we want. Nice we can all have opinions, such as american cars are better than japanese. Ummm, ok, I won't even bring up statistics.

So is your TV, phone, computer, modem/router, cable tv box, and everything else in your life made in the USA? Doubt it.

Why so concerned about money staying in the US? We just give it away to countries, and people from other countries who come here.

Time to re-evaluate your thinking? In my opinion, yes.

No doubt typed, routed through, and permanently saved on non US hardware. Get a grip on yourself buddy, realize almost nothing you own, or use, is American made. Blame America for that.

Jeff

I draw the line with whose pipelines don't destroy the Gulf of Mexico.
Will never buy Castrol.

Okay, how's it better than Valvoline Synpower or Havoline Pro DS? How's it better than normal M1 or even Mobil Super Synthetic?

That said, his post wasn't a reference to the COO or brand as much as this M1 "AP" stuff being nothing but a marketing gimmick. It's a top tier synthetic oil that should be priced around $5.50 a quart at the most.

Meanwhile, the Japanese branded US assembled car is probably made of more US sourced parts than the US branded third world assembled equivalent.

Who really wins at the end of this anyways?
