My 2015 Nissan Altima Owner's Manual only calls for oils:

*0W20 Full Syn-prefered...OR,
*5W30 or 10W30 conventional(I'm sure I can use these oils in a syn or syn/blend as well) but, does not say so.
*However, NO 5W20 dino or syn is listed. Should I NOT use any 5W20, dino or syn?

In short, it makes no sense. So yes, if there's a 5w20 and/or synthetic you want to use, use it.

If one is concerned about warranty, can wait till after. That said, be next to impossible for Nissan to prove 5w20 or synthetic oil caused an engine failure.

Thank you Sayjac,

I have been using 5W20 Havoline ProDS Full Synthetic for my winter use since new, and just about anything 5W30 held in high regard here at Bob's, in the other 3 seasons. And dealer OCI is with dino 5W30 unless otherwise specified by the vehicle owner. All of my FreeBee OCI at the dealer were with unknown 5W30.
