Pat DiNizio has died, he was the lead singer and founder of The Smithereens. They were a good solid rock band, Pat had a lot of charisma and wrote some good catchy American Rock And Roll songs. I have heard they were a great act to see live, but I never saw them. He was only 62. It is a crying shame so many great musicians have died this year.

RIP Pat. Millions of fans will miss you and The Smithereens.

Winter time is rough. Short days lead to darkness & depression, especially if you spend holidays alone. Cold air makes weak hearts work harder. Thick blood is like thick oil - it doesn't want to flow. If you're older and out of shape, take an aspirin before you shovel snow and just do short 5 minute bursts - then come in and breathe some warm air. Never shovel after a meal - doubly hard on the heart. If you can make it through Winter, Spring & Summer are a breeze.

I remember seeing them at The Post Office in Augusta, GA in the 1990s while I was stationed at Ft Gordon.

Yes, they were a great act to see live.
