I was on the freeway a few weeks ago when an old lady tried to come into my lane and brushed up against the side of my car. She admitted fault, and I have an appointment for her insurance company to look at it tomorrow. Luckily I have the SRT cladding (more plastic than a 90's Pontiac!) and it took the brunt of the impact. I'd like to avoid painting the sheet metal, does the dent in the quarter look like it will PDR out?

The car is 2.5 years old and I'll probably be trading it in the next year or two, so I am thinking just replace the two pieces of cladding, PDR the dent and buff the rear door. The wheel is also scuffed up but I can live with that.

Get it fixed properly so there is nothing left showing any scratches. It's on the other insurance company dime so go for a first class repair such as at a dealer, or a body shop that a dealer uses.

Her insurance company may just cut you a check. Then you have a PDR specialist tell you what they think. Afterwards a body shop or mobile paint repair specialist(save a ton of $$$) can work their magic. You can use Yelp for reviews on companies that are good. But make sure they at least a few reviews. Nick1994 maybe able to help as well. I think his dad works at a body shop.

While you dont care about the rim, you should. Just ask the insurance adjuster to replace it with a brand new one from the dealer. I doubt you'd find that exact rim in a junk yard in good condition.

I don't think PDR can take care of that dent, it's on a body line. Being white, it should look fine after being repainted, I doubt you'll be able to notice anything ever happened. And a new wheel should be in order as well. I guarantee it's expensive for that wheel. My grandmother's 14' Grand Caravan has the 16" wheels and the dealer wanted $400 for one. My dad does body work but he moved up to Oregon. Orlando Auto Body was great with my accident in April. I really think you should go through your insurance rather than hers. Your insurance will get reimbursed and the repairs won't be cheaped out on.

I would get a written estimate from a dealer, or a shop that a dealer uses. Show the written estimate to the insurance adjuster, and they will probably agree to pay the entire amount. If it is your only vehicle also include the cost of a rental for the time the vehicle will not be available while being repaired. The accident was 100% not your fault, and the burden should be on the other drivers insurance company to make you whole.

Get it fixed right including a new or properly repaired wheel. You were the victim and her insurance should pay to make you 100% again.

Met with the adjuster today and decided to get it repaired correctly with a new OEM wheel, not sure what I was thinking...

He tried to get me to leave it at the shop where I met him, but I didn't get the warm fuzzies as I walked around the place.

Nick1994 referred me to a shop but it's on the other end of town, I would prefer something a little closer so I can pop in if needed.

Looking for a shop now. Estimate is currently at $2,462.

Well this nightmare is finally over. I thought I found a good shop - modern and clean, good reviews, in Scottsdale with a lot of high end cars in the shop. Went to pick it up Friday, and they didn't pull the quarter window even though the insurance company clearly wrote in their estimate for them to do it. So I made them redo it, got it back and it now looks good as new. Have to wonder how many corners these shops cut knowing most people won't notice.

Is it the angle or does it look like Ray Charles set that molding piece atop the wheel well in place?

It's the angle. I should have taken a picture of the tape line under the window before they fixed it but I was too ticked off.
