Here's my latest UOA. New microgreen filter installed w/ sample. Previous filter a WIX.

Another fine report with extended oil changes using 0-20 oil. Where is all the wear numbers?

Also the acceptable limits for iron is 150 PPM.

The 1.5L in the Fit never ceases to amaze me. I swear, it's probably Honda's cleanest running engine, based on UOA results of extended OCI.

With a quart of make up oil, this oil can easily do 15,000 miles in this engine.

How does yours sound at 10k?

Have you tried adjusting the valve clearance?

LOL acceptable not by my standards.

"Substantially" and "statistically significant" are almost always two completely different things for most people... one is off gut feel/ shock value, the other is from data.

My iron number on my Fusion has increased from 7 to 18 ppm, but my OCI has gone from 7k to over 17k. You might call this Iron number a substantial increase, but statistics show that the wear rate has only gone up .07ppm/1k miles, and that there is absolutely no statistical difference between the wear rates at 7k or 17k in my engine, which means the engine doesn't know or care about the difference. That's from 100k of UOA data.

Wow that is pretty good, 15 ppm iron over 12600 miles.

The TBN is at 4 but hard to know exactly what it would have been without that make up qt.

Either way, very impressive for both the oil and the engine. I like how you are pushing some real distance.

Nice work.

I understand that, but apparently 150 PPM is the standard the labs have determined to be acceptable. I don't even find it necessary to do routine UOA. LOL!
