This is from the same Duramax as the 400,000 miles of samples. Filter is a Fleetguard FS20002. The inner screen covering the final fuel filter was purposely cut and lifted out of the way.The filter was in service for 40,000 miles during the summer, hence all the black staining from the asphaltenes being cooked out of the fuel. Fuel restriction was only 2" higher than a new filter (ya, I check that too).

If you don't have the water sensor, use: FS1221

Thanks for sharing!! How many filters on the Dmax? My 17 Ram 3500 has 2 filters now and I am looking to extend their service as my warranty expires. They want 15,000miles for both. Its nice to see what it looks like after that interval.

The Duramaxes on our pickups have just this filter. The Duramaxes on our van/chassis based trucks have this filter as well as a 10 micron water separator/fuel pump combo (a Racor P3). Not sure why GM thinks the extra isn't needed on the pickups...but never have filter issues with either.
