Now who would not want this for a Christmas present?
http://xm42.com/
What could go wrong?

A local radio show had the owner on.

If this is the wrong forum but this is literally a firearm.....

Just because.

$1100-$1200 range. And these should not be legal for sale. Just what the thug element present in most civil disturbance protests need easy access to: a weapons grade flame thrower to replace their Molotov cocktails. I'm pro 2nd amendment, pro concealed carry and national reciprocity for carry, but flame throwers?... not so much.

Why not let people freely buy and own RPG's too, if flame throwers are allowed?

This is the type of foolish mentality that gun control grows out of. The liberals cried about how, "there would be gunfights over fender benders", if concealed carry was allowed. Never happened. Here in Arizona the gun grabbers were screaming that drinking establishments would become blood baths, when our then Governor Jan Brewer signed the bill into law allowing concealed carry in bars. Nothing bad happened. Banning something from sale does nothing to curb it's use. Criminals have never obeyed laws.

This is no different. I would trust ANY citizen with ANY weapon I'm forced to trust the government with. If these were available at Ace Hardware, nothing would happen. If someone wanted one of these things badly enough, they could make one themselves. Put alcohol in a battery powered squirt gun, with a piezoelectric quartz lighter from a barbecue, and you're good to go.

Sorry, but no. There needs to be a limit, and arms need some level of regulation. Under your stated reasoning, anyone should be able to buy a surplus M1A1 or M1A2 Abrams fully armed, with open access to HEAT and SABOT ammo for its smooth bore.

They already can. Many military weapons can be legally owned and operated by civilians. Including tanks and artillery guns and ammunition through a Destructive Device License obtainable through the ATF. I take it you've never been to the Big Sandy Shoot in Arizona? You should attend. That way you could better educate yourself before posting nonsense.

Thanks for not keeping it civil by taking a personal jab, however I'll take the high road and not reciprocate. My point was *anyone* i.e. unregulated. NFA and Class 3 weapons come to mind --> Regulated. I believe the cannon on any heavy weaponry is NFA regulated and has to be registered with ATF. THAT was my point, THAT precludes "anyone" as the word is commonly understood with regard to inclusion. I'll quote it again for you,

Look, what keeps these weapons out of the "hood" is cost.... Not regulation. Some, (like the M-1 Abrams currently for sale), cost millions of dollars. The ammunition, tens of thousands more. Even a G.E. M-134 Mini Gun that's transferable is going to cost you well over $200K. It's capable of firing at 6,000 rounds a minute. With .308 / 7.62 X 51 MM currently running right around $600.00 a thousand, you're looking at over $3,600.00 a minute to operate it.

Even up here, with our regs, I was at a gun show some years back, and one gun ship had a small towable artillery piece on display. They specialised in military hardware. Someone commented what if it gets in the wrong hands. What wrong hands? Is someone going to rob a 7-11 with the thing?
