That Valvoline is holding up just as well as the Pennzoil. I may just go back to it.

About a year ago I witnessed a Ford modular V8 with its valve covers off to replace the valve cover gaskets it had 325,000 miles and the motor was spotless! The owner used Valvoline Synpower 5w30 changed around 7,500 miles since new. Not that other oils would not do the same I'm just saying the Synpower worked.

Why does the middle report have a significantly lower viscosity?

I can tell you that it is the Daily Protection Valvoline Full Synthetic that was only sold at Meijer stores for a few months than discontinued, not sure if that's it but could be.
TOTO.

Can you confirm it was the same viscosity as the other two? If so, thatís very interesting.

Other than marketing what makes Pennzoil better than Valvoline?

It comes before alphabetically?
That makes about as much sense as any other BITOG argument you'll hear ...

The act of preventative maintenance, in and of itself, is FAR MORE important than brand/grade/base choices among lubes and filters.
- under maintaining something is akin to abuse/neglect; that can kill equipment by shortening the lifespan
- over maintaining something has never been proven to be anything but a waste of time and money
