https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pennzoil-Ultra-Platinum-5W-30-Motor-Oil-5-qt/55291206

With the current $10 rebate that's going to be a fair price.

I thought that PUP was extinct. There certainly isn’t any on the shelves at my local Walmart.

Online only?

I would save even more money and buy the Platinum.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Not sure if its online only they didn't have it in the store last time I was in there but it came up this morning online with the ship to your home or the in store pick up option. Its always a good idea to look online. Strangely enough the Platinum is the same price $19.98.

No doubt because you will not see the albino deer on the shelves. Anyway, I think Shell marketing has turned this into the brass ring it is supposed to be.

For those that have an engine that could develop LSPI, PUP currently does not meet GM dexos1 Gen 2. This is potentially significant because dexos1 Gen 2 includes a LSPI test.

Unfortunately, Nyquist, there are a lot of people on this board that still haven't come out of 1982, and realized that things like LSPI, fuel dilution, and timing chain stretch exist. They will recommend non-detergent 30 weight with 30,000 mile OCI's, with a filter change every 7th OCI, for every engine. smile

They've got Pennzoil Platinum Euro 0W-40 locally at $22.47 per jug.

Thinking it may be my new go-to. I'll at least try it.

Does it not meet it or was not even tested for it?

With Calcium ranges 2000 and above, probably wouldn't pass the tests, if they even attempted it.

My 2004 Toyota and lots of other people cars don't need dexos oil our cars haven't had LSPI engineered into them you think the government will make them call them back and retrofit them to be LSPI compatible? I could care less about dexos1.
