Quaker State rebate denied on clearance AA QSUD #4581533

I submitted a receipt online for 3 5qt jugs of QSUD that I bought at Advance Auto on clearance for $1.85 a jug and it was rejected because of "Duplicate Claim Submited". I haven't submitted it more than once, so unless they made an error they don't offer rebates on clearance oil. My dad who lives in a different state was also denied for the same reason. I might give them a call and see what is going on if I feel like it.

Anybody else was able to get the rebate on clearance oil?

Sounds like good old SOPUS roulette. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. I bought 39 single quarts @ $0.45 each and submitted. I got a rebate for $21 in about 3-4 weeks. I actually wasn't expecting it, and was surprised when it came. You never know, one time I had the "duplicate submission" message and got a check a week later; I think it was a Pennzoil rebate.

Hmmmm, I received my $21 rebate in 2 weeks when I submitted my rebate online. I too bought my QS oil(s) from AAP for CHEAP! I did very well(IMHO) with my prices on the QS oils however, both of you did even better. Way to go! smile

I've gotten those many times (SOPUS and Rotella) only to get the actual rebate a week or so later.

My advice based on personal experience, call the toll free rebate number and explain the situation. I also had my QSUD rebate denied last year, but saved copies of all documentation. The first denial reason/excuse was no store number on receipt....wrong answer. Told phone rep store number clearly on receipt. Second reason/excuse improper or incorrect item...nope. Correct item clearly circled. She finally agreed all information was correct and she resubmitted, got rebate. My experience was documented HERE

So call and hit O for a representative. Good Luck.

^^^^My 'assumption' is that the OP meant $1.85/qt. I purchased similar AAP closeout QSUD 0w20 at ~2.15/qt and price went lower elsewhere as time went on.

That would make more sense indeed.

Does this mean I shouldn't bother submitting for rebates on the $0.05/qt bottles that I got? smile

It was actually $1.65 for the 5qt jug. I didn't expect to get the rebate but I submitted it just to see if it would work.

My guess is they have some minimum price rule before they will allow a rebate.

I was able to get a rebate on the same 5 quart jug on clearance, but at the time I bought it was $8.45 for the jug. Got 2 jugs from Advance Auto and a 14.00 check from SOPUS.

I'm telling you guys, they do randomized database queries to set the status to denied to meet the redemption commitments they make to the mfrs. - under the guise of 'strict enforcement'.

If there are no price restictions on the terms of the rebate, you should be good to go (at least legally and theoretically)

This is the 1st 2017 rebate for either Pennz or Quaker State that I can recall being denied.....as I've been tracking these on here in both my original January threads and all the individual ones that pop up. They've been almost perfect for 2 years now giving out Bitogger rebates. But there have been a few cases where people had to call the rebate center and clear things up. One of my Mobil 1 rebates this year required a call after they misplaced the submission...odd that it was a single submission for 2 jugs and they only gave me a check for one jug. Calls clear these things up.

Call the rebate center. If you have your original confirmation number (these always come with online submissions), pass that along.

The price you paid has no bearing. You should get a $21 rebate. I've submitted 3 QS rebates so far this year on the AAP clearances. 2 have come in. 3rd went in 2 weeks ago. Some of those QS HM blends were $1.35/jug. They rebated $5 to me. They paid me to buy them. It doesn't matter what you paid, as long you have an invoice proving you bought them.

Considering that over 95% if all Bitog SOPUS rebates in 2016-2017 have been getting paid, there is clearly no randomized program to deny people....at least not those who know how to navigate the submission form, upload a receipt, etc. It's easier if your receipt shows all the key information they require (see rebate page). 90% of the time store receipts automatically assign this info. My last call to the rebate center stated that as long as you show a UIC code, they can figure it out.

If those were truly random denials on successfully submitted on line submitals....then it would show up on Bitog submissions too. There's no way SOPUS knows which submissions come from Bitog members. The fact that we have a success rate on SOPUS submissions of 95-98% the past 2 years supports that notion. If there was an automatic 10-50% kickback...we'd show that. And what do they say to you when you actually call the rebate center with a confirmation number, good receipt, and perfect photo. They can see all that right there in front of them. You can always request the check number they claim to have issued if it's truly a duplicate submission. Don't see why you can't ask for an email copy of the cancelled check you supposedly endorsed. From what I've read here the pre-2015 years had numerous submission rejections. Since I wasn't here then, I can't address it.
