don't do it man. those cheap things either [censored] out, or the battery dies within a year. Better off getting the old plastic stick ones on ebay for $1 shipped directly from China. Or, the same thing is $2.69 at AAP.

I don't like angled gauges anyways. Only air gauges I buy connect straight-line to the valve stem.

I found an old Husky digital guage in my dad's glove compartment. It was in there for years through the cold winters and heat of the summer. Works perfectly. It looks more like this one.

I had the husky one. It was good and I put it up against the craftsman one and they both had the same readings. It however didnít last two years.

I have a digital one that displays the pressure, and says what the pressure is. Comes in handy if the stem is in a weird tight space. I've had it in my garage for about 4 years all year round and it still works.,,,

This is a case where analog is better for longevity.

While I can't say a stick gauge ever let me down I gotta say that there's nothing to prevent them from wearing out.
Being inaccurate is secondary if you use the same tool year after year.

Years ago my folks bought round dial gauges with 9" or so of flexible hose for real easy alignment with the valve

Still have 'em and they are real consistent as well.

You are not alone, not by a long shot. I tried a couple of brands of digital gauges ,but usually within a year or 2 the battery goes dead or I drop it and it doesn't work and then I end up tossing them. Good thing I always keep a couple of the old spare pencil type gauges around like the picture you posted. No batteries to worry about and they never fail. They are accurate enough for me.

The old standby pencil tire gauges are not known for being super accurate.

But I have 2 or 3.
