When storing a striker fired gun is it a good idea to pull the trigger to let the striker spring relax?

I figured that as well...

I have magazines that are loaded full and stay loaded full for years and years.

They never seem to lose any spring tension.

Not something to worry about. You can load it and stick it in your holster for 25 years and the striker spring will be fine. You might want to replace them, and all the other springs about every 25 years or so.

Also, every gun is different. Glock strikers are not under pressure, while XD pistols are fully cocked.

Agree, use and growing brittle with age kills springs-tension is no big deal.
