bypass oil line

Hi! I have been trying to figure out how to run a line from my T On the oil pressure sending unit to a remote filter setup.I see no 1/8 inner diameter oil lines out there. I have found many stainless lines for a turbo.bUt they use AN lines and I am not sure they will fit my filter mount that has 1/2 inch NPT. I do have npt fittings that fit the remote mount and provide a 1/8 barb for a line.I do admit to being a bit confused. The T on the oil pressure sending unit has 1/4 inch hole that another barb fitting fits onto.I will use an adapter to make it so an Amsoil bp 90 will fit on. If I can find a line I can have my bypass setup for around a hundred bucks.
I do think the AN fitting would be the best.I just don't get the size and fitting needed. sorry to babble on.Ideas?

Any big NAPA Auto Parts store can make up any length line you want. NPT is not an issue. Plenty of line fittings in NPT

I had a similar problem on my Suburban. Rather than mess with cutting lines, finding fittings etc., I just bought the entire Amsoil bypass filter kit. The adapter goes where the stock oil filter fits, and it was a 99% bolt on affair. I drilled 2 holes in the plastic 2nd battery tray to hold the assembly, so both filters can be changed without lifting / raising the truck.
The truck itself looks like garbage due to the late 90's poor paint quality, but the bypass filter assembly has worked fine since installed in 2000.

I don't remember the specs on this line; but I called the manufacturer and questioned its suitability to hold oil pressure and engine compartment temperatures...It works fine; it is easy to cut with a utility knife and is almost as flexible as heater hose, assembles easily onto push loc (proper spelling for the application) fittings. Push loc fittings are available in adapters and various shapes and sizes on eBay.

Amsoil and all the push lock fittings are easy to cut with a utility knife and assemble onto the fittings with a drop or two of oil and you're ready to go. Hope this helps you.

I looked at the push loC fittings.They look good and make me nervous with the whole no clamp thing.But i could not find any 1/8 fittings. I don't think 1/4 would offer enough restriction. All the push loC fittings seem to be female. Do the push loC fittings match up to NPT?

i have looked and figured out how to make the smallest size fit.an-4.Using an adapter that goes from NPT to AN. So this is 1/4 inch line. 1/8 Just wasn't going to happen.Curious how you mounted up a restriction in the line? I think 1/4 inch would flow to much/fast for a bypass.

Ron I'm sorry for a delayed response but I did not see your last post. To answer your question, there is no restrictor in the lines. The restrictors are built into the inlets of the bypass filters, by the manufacturers. I use 1/8" oil pressure gauge tubing for my bypass oil filter.
