Anyone know what these two Potentially Unwanted Program detections are about, and shown as being associated with Google Chrome.

Yeah, you want to remove them.

It something a website you visited has left behind usually. Conduit is that notorious company that likes to install their search bars and take over your browser and redirect all your web traffic and searches to their network.

Sometimes depending on the variant it can involve reinstalling windows from scratch because it's too hard to fix the mess it makes of an operating system like Windows.

I take out all the PUP's my copy finds when it finds them. I do the prescribed reboot if it asks and then follow up with CCleaner to get rid of any remnants if there is any in the browser or windows registry.

I put those two found PUPs in quarantine, then opened Chrome and it seemed to work fine. Maybe I need to reboot my computer first? I'll try that too.

Definitely unwanted Chrome extensions. In Chrome, open a new tab and then type:
"chrome://extensions/" (without the quotes) in the address bar at the top.

You should see a list of all extensions in the browser.

Post the list you see here.

Chrome reports no extensions. The PUPs were quarantined and computer rebooted before checking.

OK, good thumbsup

I'd recommend the Adblock Plus extension BTW, I use it on all my Chrome installs.

I have one titled "New Tab Redirect 3.1.4". Should I remove this?

Thanks

Thanks Overkill, I just added the Adblock Plus extension. I use it on Firefox, so don't know why I haven't added it to Chrome until now. Guess I use Firefox most of the time, but do also use Chrome some.

There's an ad blocker for Chrome?

If you don't know why you have it, yes. It's a legit extension however.
